Tribute To Bob Hope

I am a shooter, reloader, and a cartridge collector. I have owned guns since I was about 17 or 18 years old (for about 35 years now). And although I have had many different kinds of guns and rifles throughout the years - I now own one handgun and one rifle. My handgun of choice is a .44 Magnum Colt Anaconda, it's a do all gun. I bought it because there is nothing on the North American continent that it will not kill cleanly and quickly. (This is a proven fact and well documented). My rifle of choice is the .22 Long Rifle, in a Ruger 10/22 with a 6 power scope. It's not a stopper round, but it is a killer round - this bullet has killed more game than all of the other bullets combined. And it will kill up to deer sized game with a carefully placed shot. I've been reading gun books and magazines for many years now and have learned from the experts (Elmer Keith and Bill Jordan). The trend in society is to get people to use bullets like the Glaser, Hollow Points, Hydra-Shok, Black Talon, +P+, bullets that will not penetrate. This is all wrong, "PENETRATION IS EVERYTHING", the deeper the better, all the way through is great because you have to tear up and cause a lot of organ and bone damage inside to make that happen! Your second shot should be a good hollowpoint / solid bullet combination like the Golddot from Speer, this gives the 1 - 2 punch effect. Also, the new trend is to use a semi-automatic rather than a revolver. Their reasoning behind this is bullet capacity - the semi-automatic holds more ammunition in a firefight. A revolver holds 6 rounds, sometimes 8. Number 1. If I think I am going to be in a firefight, I've woke up in Viet Nam! Number 2. A semi-automatic is not strong emough to shoot the rounds or ammunition that I shoot (It would loosen up, jam even more, and soon break). Number 3. A revolver NEVER JAMS..EVER. Number 4. If I can't hit my target with 6 rounds or less, I deserve to be shot!!!!

One of my loves is collecting cartridges (handgun ammunition, modern & obsolete), plus (rifle ammunition, modern & obsolete). I also collect military ammunition and small ordance when I can find it. If you have anything extra that is not on my list, please contact me with a price and I will be happy to add it to my collection. (I would prefer to trade, if there is anything that I have extra that you need). I am only limited by finances - I draw disability checks from the government and they are mighty small, but I do the best that I can.

Thank You,

Richard Hickok
